★ Favourite Destination
Scotland has been voted Most Beautiful, Most Welcoming and Favourite Destination by readers of renowned travel bible, Rough Guides. We may well be biased but we won't argue with that verdict. Our own guide to cycling in the Scottish Highlands is here.
It is also our belief that the Scottish Highlands is home to the most scenic views in Scotland and that the best way to explore these landscapes is by bike. We don't offer cycling holiday packages with accommodation but we can rent you a great bike, cyclist transport service and all the help and advice you need to plan your bike vacation in the Highlands of Scotland.
Our cycle hire and bike taxi services are for self-guided cycle tours. The cycling holiday routes on our website are there to help you plan your own Scottish cycling holiday. You can follow our routes, adapt them to fit your ability and interests or plan your own cycling holiday from scratch with advice from us as required.
Navigating an unfamiliar landscape with patchy mobile phone reception need not be a worry. The popular routes for cycling are well signposted and in the more remote areas there aren't so many roads to choose from! A combination of paper maps, mobile phone (or GPS device) and road signs should be all that is required to keep you on track. We've been doing this since 2007 and all our customers have found their way back... so far. Pick up a map from the workshop or order maps online here.
This self-guided cycling holiday is full of variety in landscapes as well as things to do off the bike. Over 7 days you will ride through mountain scenery in Cairngorms National Park, follow the Whisky Trail along the River Spey then through fishing villages on the Moray Coast. Whisky, salmon, mountains, castles, cashmere, Clava and Culloden - if you don't love this trip then maybe Scotland's not for you.Read more...

Cycling a lap of Loch Ness is a great way to appreciate the scale and grandeur of Scotland's well known monster habitat. We recommend making this a three or four day cycling holiday. Although the distances aren't huge some of the climbs are challenging. Your efforts will be rewarded with views most visitors (and even locals) never see. Read more...
We rented bikes for our Loch Ness adventure. Like other reviewers we can not say enough about the absolutely stellar service that Ticket To Ride offers. From start to finish and all the way through Lindsay was right there with excellent communication. Read more...
The North Coast 500 is a long circuit around the most scenic, rugged and remote parts of the Scottish Highlands. It's 516 miles long so you might want to split it into more than one vacation or just select the section that inspires you most. The North Coast 500 Cycle Route is one of the tougher UK cycling holidays but if it was easy then everyone would be doing it! Read more...

The Great Glen Way is an off road mountain bike cycling holiday that crosses Scotland from Inverness on the east coast to Fort William on the west. The first half is hilly as you climb and descend between the villages on the shores of Loch Ness. The southern end is flatter with long sections of path beside the Caledonian Canal. One-way bike hire and baggage transfers are available on this route.Read more...
The route along the Great Glen Way was really spectacular and the most beautiful pristine environment with not a scrap of paper or litter. The high route between Invermoriston and Fort Augusts is really demanding - I would recommend the low route if you are looking for a more relaxing ride. Read more...
The Outer Hebrides are a chain of islands which sit in the Atlantic, off the west coast of Scotland. These remote islands offer unspoiled wilderness, beautiful landscapes and a glimpse into the unique way of life the islanders have developed. The Hebridean Way is a logistical as well as cycling challenge. In addition to bike hire, we offer transfers between Inverness and the ferry ports at Oban, Mallaig and Ullapool. Read more...
Figuring out the logistics for a week-long trip to the Outer Hebrides during the high season can be a stressful experience. So we are especially grateful to the folks at Ticket to Ride for making the bike rental/transport process so easy and seamless. They were very friendly, knowledgeable and generally awesome.
